We’ve recently seen a number of people coming forward to divulge ‘secrets’ of high street stores and food chains.
From KFC to McDonald’s and TK Maxx, employees past and present have revealed all.
Most recently a woman who claims to have worked at Primark in Birmingham for seven years has shared some of the interesting things she learned during her time there.
The woman, known only as Gemma, said she began working in Primark when she was just 18-years-old.
Now 30, and employed as a pharmacy assistant, she hopes sharing her experiences will help people get the most out of their future shopping experiences at the store.
Speaking to The Sun, Gemma revealed the best time for customers to get their hands on brand new stock.
And it seems it’s true what they say, the early bird does indeed catch the worm.
“I would say the best time to shop is when they first open or an hour before they close. It really depends on what stock comes in as every day is different,” she said.
“When I worked there, it totally depended on what stock came in that day but usually, shopping first thing was best.”
Gemma went on to recommend that customers always take the hangers home as it makes things “so much easier” and quicker at the till.
And that if there’s something you really want but are worried they will sell out of your size, it’s worth calling your local branch in the morning to ask if they have it.
She claims they can hold an item behind the till until the end of the day.
But despite staff trying their best to help in these ways, Gemma says she didn’t feel like customers had much respect for the workers while she was there.
She added: “From my experience, the customers didn’t have respect for the staff.
“I have had items thrown at me whilst on a till when I was serving and verbal abuse.
“But good things came out of working there too. I got to see new stock before it went out and I could get stock for family and friends if they couldn’t find it.”
So there you go, it’s a good idea to always be nice to Primark employees!
